Register today for the NYS The Alliance: New York State Alliance for Arts Education Online Arts Advocacy Summit

NYSAAE is excited about the upcoming Arts Advocacy Summit scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2024 and we hope you will be able to join us online for this important Professional Development and Partnership Building

The Online Summit will begin at 8:30am and continue until noon.

And there will be no charge!

And for educators your participation will qualify for Continuing Education (CEU) credit.

This is a critical PD opportunity for teachers, administrators of all levels, parents, teaching artists, and community advocates, we felt although networking opportunities carry much value, we could focus this event in such a way to ensure value added benefits.

Still time to register: Send an email to receive the online Zoom link by sending a request to nysallianceforartsed@gmail.com  Please include in your email, your contact information inclusive of your first and last name, zip-code, school district and building and/or affiliation. Also share your prefered email contact to send the link to. In addition, please provide your mailing address and phone number, as well as grade levels you work with and area of concentration (Music, Dance, Theatre, Visual or Media Arts.) You may also PM this info.

The link with the finalized agenda for the event will be distributed the night before (4/18) by 10pm via your email provided.

Zach Arenz, NYS Teacher of the Year

Lauren Wagner, Director of the Long Island Arts Alliance (speaking on economic impact on communities)

Keynote Speakers:

Author Eleni Theodorou (https://elenitheodorou.com/)

Dr. Hope Blecher (https://www.hope4education.com/ featuring connections between theatre projects and social emotional and cultural integration/learning - how performing arts add value to what and how we teach to the whole child).

PLUS we will have members from the NYS Education Department, Senate, Assembly, and NYS School Boards and Rural Schools Association to discuss productive advocacy...and updates on our current agenda, including the state budget and legislation.

The Online Summit will begin at 8:30am and continue until noon. Please note, the event will be recorded.

There is no cost to our event.
